Power Distribution Box for LED Screens
We build these boards around your single-line diagram: a three-phase incoming isolator, outgoing 16A or 32A circuits with individual MCBs or RCBOs, and a neutral sized for the non-linear load that LED power supplies present. Circuit labels match the drawing, which is what an inspector and a local crew both look for.

Protection, Metering and Inspection
Every board is assembled, wired and then tested circuit by circuit. Metering and protection are chosen for the site: an LED wall is a steady, non-linear load, so neutral sizing, earth leakage and discrimination matter more than the headline amp rating.
- Three-phase incoming isolator with door interlock option
- 16A / 32A outgoing circuits, MCB or 30 mA RCBO per way
- Digital voltmeter and ammeter on the incoming section
- IP54 steel, IP65 stainless or polycarbonate enclosure
- Engraved labels, single-line diagram and test sheet supplied

How Each Board Is Built and Tested
- Assembly design follows IEC 61439-1 and IEC 61439-2 for low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies, including temperature-rise and short-circuit coordination checks on the selected components.
- Inlets, outlets and couplers are IEC 60309 industrial devices, with powerCON TRUE1 or Socapex 19-pin used where the rig calls for them.
- Enclosure protection is quoted to IEC 60529 and confirmed on the finished unit, not only on the sheet metal.
- Boards intended for event work can be configured to BS 7909:2023 practice, with 30 mA RCD protection on socket circuits and time-delayed upstream devices so a single fault does not take out the whole board.
- Routine tests on every unit: protective earth continuity, insulation resistance, RCD trip time, functional check of each outlet, and a labelled single-line diagram packed with the board.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I size a wall mounted distro for an LED wall?
Start with the maximum draw of each LED panel and multiply by the number of panels per column, then add the processor and control rack. Size the outgoing circuits to that figure with headroom, and check the neutral rating, because LED power supplies produce harmonic current on the neutral.
Can one board feed both the LED wall and the stage lighting?
It can, but we usually keep them on separate outgoing groups with separate RCDs. Lighting and video are commissioned by different crews, and separate groups mean a fault on one does not black out the other.
Which IP rating should I specify?
IP54 is normally enough for a control room or covered stage. For a screen frame mounted outdoors, specify IP65 or IP66 and confirm the cable gland and door seal match that rating.
